Overview

This site is a personal project. It does not run analytics, does not use tracking pixels, and does not serve ads. Your privacy is respected by default.

What Data Is Collected

This site collects the minimum data necessary to function. Specifically, the only data that exists is standard web server logs generated by Nginx and Gunicorn. These logs may contain your IP address, the pages you visited, your browser's user-agent string, the referring URL, and timestamps. This is standard for virtually all web servers on the internet.

No analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics) are used. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded for the purpose of profiling visitors.

Cookies

This site uses Django's session framework, which may set a session cookie in your browser. This cookie is used solely for functionality — for example, storing scan results when you use the URL Scanner tool. No cookies are used for tracking or advertising purposes.

Third-Party Services

Some features on this site make requests to external APIs on your behalf. For example, the NASA Explorer fetches data from NASA's public APIs, the stock scanner queries Yahoo Finance via the server, and the URL Scanner submits URLs to VirusTotal and urlscan.io. These requests are made server-side — your IP address is not shared with these services. However, these services have their own privacy policies which govern how they handle data sent to them.

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and the Tailwind CSS framework from a CDN. These external resources may log requests on their end according to their own privacy policies.

Data Retention

Server logs are retained for a reasonable period for debugging and security purposes and are not shared with anyone. URL scan results are cached on the server to avoid redundant API calls but contain no personal information.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at anyone under the age of 18 and does not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Your Rights

Since this site does not maintain user accounts or collect personal data beyond server logs, there is generally no personal data to request, modify, or delete. If you have concerns, feel free to reach out.

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
